Hands-on fabrication of prototypes in company lab, using a variety of tools and processes (SLA & FDM 3D printers, laser cutter, band saw, lathe, etc.)
Design metal and plastic parts for prototyping and manufacturing (machining, injection molding, etc.) using CAD
Manage assemblies of parts and their fabrication/procurement lead time to hit product deadlines
Create engineering drawings using GD&T practices that will be used for fabrication at domestic and international vendors.
Develop standards operating procedures (SOP) for testing product performance
Execute tests and analyze testing data to improve the system performance and design.
Develop and improve assembly SOP for in-house builds and high-volume builds.
Develop mathematical models of the complex dynamics of our system and perform design calculations from the results
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
Creativity in problem-solving, ability to think out-of-box, and adapt quickly to new technical areas
Strong knowledge of CAD software and drafting procedures
Theoretical and practical comprehension of material science, mechanics of deformable bodies, statics, dynamics, and vibrations
Experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, Laser Cutting, Foam Models, etc.)
Experience with part design for machining
Excellent prioritization and project development skills
Excellent communication skill and ability to work in a team environment
Willingness to take his/her own initiative and ask questions
