The Mechanical Engineering Technician works closely with mechanical, optical, systems, and electrical engineering teams to develop and test Opto/Mechanical/electrical prototype devices. We are looking for candidates who are creative, energetic team players who excel in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
In this position, you would be expected to perform as an individual contributor on a multi-disciplinary advanced development team. Candidates must be highly innovative and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
Basic skills: soldering techniques and assembly of small components under a microscope
Ability to design, develop and/or source instrumentation for prototype design, build, and testing
Ability to collaborate with engineers to develop, execute, and document complex experimental and fabrication plans
Maintain test equipment including fixturing, measurement equipment, oscilloscopes, ovens, probes, sensors, etc.
Have basic machining abilities and demonstrate competency with hand tools (drill press, cut-off saws, etc.)
Maintain a clean, organized working laboratory and ensure proper inventory of supplies
