Let’s work together.
Electrical Engineer (Mid-Level to Senior)
Ommo Technologies is building the world's first permanent-magnet-based 3D tracking system - a spatial intelligence platform that connects humans and machines through precise, real-time motion tracking. Our core technology acts as a "GPS for precise human interaction," powering applications from surgical navigation and dental implant placement to training and simulation. We're now expanding aggressively into training tools for physical AI, bringing our high-precision tracking to a fast-growing new market.
The hardware behind this is dense, precise, and unforgiving: very small PCBs, fine-pitch components, and circuits where layout quality directly impacts tracking performance and market success. If you like difficult, tangible electrical engineering problems with a clear line from your work to the product, this is your role.
We're growing our electrical engineering team and hiring engineers who split their time roughly 50/50 between PCB layout and hands-on hardware bring-up and verification. You'll own designs end to end - from layout through bring-up, debug, and handoff to manufacturing - working shoulder to shoulder with our firmware team and reporting directly to the Engineering Director.
Responsibilities
PCB design & layout in Altium, including fine-pitch BGAs, tight high-density layouts, and very small form-factor boards
Hardware bring-up, debugging, and testing, bringing up brand-new circuits and verifying/debugging small-batch PCBs assembled in-house
Design and maintain the electrical side of test fixtures used both internally and on our overseas production lines (supported remotely, minimal to no travel)
Write hardware specifications and work with manufacturers through prototype and high-volume production
Collaborate across teams including firmware, software, product design, and manufacturing — to ensure product conformance and functionality
Create and maintain electrical documentation, including product requirements, verification, and validation/testing documentation
Help build scalable hardware processes for a growing company
Qualifications
3+ years of direct PCB layout experience (we're hiring at multiple levels — more experienced candidates are encouraged to apply)
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechatronics, or a related field
Proficiency with Altium
Strong intuition for, and understanding of, circuits and electrical systems
Comfortable solving complex, ambiguous electrical problems with limited direction
Working understanding of common software development processes and the ability to partner closely with firmware and software engineers
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Nice to Haves
Experience with EMI/EMC standards and testing
C programming experience
Python experience
Familiarity with IEC 60601 standards and experience working in an ISO 13485 quality system (valuable for our medical product lines)
Experience taking hardware from prototype into volume manufacturing
